Okay, since vince has been putting out equiptment tutorials.
I'm here to give some vocalizing techniques.
I've been doing a fair traveling around to realize a lot singers
are using the incorrect technique to sing.

They're using either their throat or chest to sing.
This gives the fake "weak" voice
Found in a lot of jazz, blues, and rock music.
It is a wrong perception to think that you can carry off the mood singing like that.
We need to sing mainly from our diaphragm.

Why do we need to sing using diaphragm?
If we use the other organs such as our throat or chest to sing.
It damages our respective organ because it isn't suppose to be used like that.
Over exertion there may cause internal injuries.

But how do rock band singers manage to do screamo(Heavy shouting)?
It's true that they don't use their diaphragm to sing.
It's extremely damaging to the throat and voice.
Famous singers from rock bands like,
Chester Bennington from linkin Park
M. Shadows(Matthew Charles Sanders) from Avenged Sevenfold
Steven Tyler from Aerosmith
Etc. etc.

These singers have underwent countless throat surgeries
because they overuse their throat to give the "rockish" feel in the vocals.

I use my throat sometimes to do screamos, but all i have to say is,
use wisely, discrepancy is the key.

How do i know if i'm not using my diaphragm?
One very basic and easy way to find out.
When you only finish singing 2 to 3 songs straight
you start finding it hard to talk loud.
Your throat feels like you just came out from cheering and shouting.

Because if you used your throat correctly
an average singer can last 6 to 7 sings.

How then do i use my diaphragm?
It takes practice to get use to breathing correctly.
True breathing involves the moving of your tummy.
Average human being breathe incorrectly.
When we breathe our chest move, and our tummy sits motionless.

Hold your index finger about an inch from your lips
and breathe out slowly and try to notice the action of the diaphragm as you exhale.

This should be the amount of breath used when you sing.

A singer do not need to 'push' or 'force' air through the
vocal cords to produce a good strong or loud sound,
doing this will create a lot of air pressure against the vocal folds
may damage the vocal cords.

Your tummy should move inward or contract when you exhale.
It should not be intentionally sucked in because by doing so,
it will prevent the diaphragm from working naturally as it should.

Practice until it comes natural.
You'll find singing easier and less agonizing. =)

NOTE: If your vocal range is a 10.
Sing at a level of 7-8.
Never show off by singing 10 because that is your limit.
If you wanna breakthrough and go even higher.
You gotta do vocal exercises.
I will do that soon =)

Ultra Ultra expensive acoustic amp

Rivera Sedona 55 Doyle Dykes Signature Combo with ES Option

Designed with Nashville fingerpicking legend Doyle Dykes to handle the nuances of acoustic guitar. 5 - 12AX7 preamp tubes shape 2 full discrete channels of warm tone, while 2 EL-34 power tubes push out 55W to the 12" JBL woofer and single high-power dome tweeter. Channel 1 is designed to produce optimum electric tones, clean or distorted. Channel 2 is tailored for electric or acoustic instruments. Each channel has its own independent 3-band EQ, and the tweeter can be switched on or off to reproduce an acoustic instrument's sparkling harmonics on demand. The anti-feedback equalizer tunes out unwanted noise. Reverb has never sounded sweeter, thanks to the long-pan, 6-spring Accutronics reverb.

The rear-panel tube direct box output includes a level control and pull switch for ground lift. It sends only the instrument's signal through an all-tube, low-impedance, balanced XLR output. The active effects loop has level controls for matching any outboard signal processor to optimize tone and minimize noise. Cabinet is built of hardwood plywood and finished in a buckskin brown Tolex, with 3-tone brown grille cloth, nickel corners, and leatheret te handle on top. The ES-balanced XLR input option is for use with the Taylor ES system. FS-7 footswitch included.

Woot~! Very long never post liaozZz!!
Rememberd that vincent posted on HIS favorite band: RHCP
I'm gonna do the same. hehe

I follow my boss... =D

I was recently reminded of my "use to"
fav band whom was introduced to me by our dear guitarist
Tommy!

This band doesn't major on singing at all.
It majors in guitar solos and rifts.
In fact it majors so much in solos and rifts that
it has 3 members out of the 6 member band who are solo guitarist.

Imagine that 3 solo guitarists in one band!
That's NUTS!

Well, this band is none other than the very powerfully talented
band

G3 Jam

Photobucket

The 3 guitarists are
1) Steve Vai
2) Joe Satriani
3) John Petrucci

3 of the biggest names in guitar history ever!
Vincent would call it 吓死人的 band!

Well, unlike the usual saying that goes, too many cooks spoil the song.
They challenge each other to play more and more amazing solos
every time they take turns striking on their guitars.

Don't believe me? Go check out "La Grange" on youtube.
Your jaw will drop, guaranteed!

Okay, this is not a main stream band so they don't focus on the singing and pop rock melody so chill out before u go finger pointing on them.

This is not a band which EVERYBODY would like, but their solos are still wicked to me.

CHEERS!
